What is a Birth Blessing?

A Birth Blessing Ceremony is a beautiful alternative to a baby shower (although you can certainly have both). The focus of this ceremony is to empower and support the pregnant person as they journey into the birth and onwards into parenthood.

Time is spent surrounded by your community, as they share
positive stories about birth and parenting, allowing you to release any remaining fears you may be holding onto. This beautiful ceremony is completely customized to suit the needs and spiritual beliefs of the birthing person.

The Navajo/ Din'e Peoples, celebrate Blessing ways throughout their life cycles to reflect on large scared transitions in their culture. For birth, they hold a special celebration specifically for the birthing parent to prepare for the transition to parenthood. We, at Full Circle Birth Collective, hope to  respect the sacredness of the term "Blessingway" performed by the Navajo people. We acknowledge and are always trying to be mindful of the context that we give these ceremonies and are aiming to be considerate of our purpose and intent in undertaking them.
