Hi, I’m Emily! I’m a compassionate postpartum doula dedicated to meeting families where they are at, offering personalized support to help families adjust to the changes that come with welcoming a new baby. With a deep passion for educating and cheering on parents, I create a safe space for growth, healing and confidence each time we meet. My heart is especially drawn to first-time parents and navigating the challenges of the fourth trimester. As a mother of 2 and someone who has personally given birth by c-section and vaginal birth after c-section (VBAC), I combine both my knowledge and experience to ensure families feel empowered, informed, and never alone in their postpartum journey. I also have a special interest in supporting families through birth trauma and parents experiencing postpartum anxiety and/or depression.
My work is grounded in a non-judgemental approach with a deep commitment to evidence-based practices while honouring each family with empathy and respect.
On a personal note, I have extensive professional experience supporting and serving people through different walks of life. Since 2008, I have worked in the disability field in varying roles with both children and adults. I also have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alberta in anthropology and psychology. I am a self-proclaimed plant lady, have two cats and would love to meet your pets too! I’m driven by curiosity and will always offer a listening ear over a coffee. If I’m not helping a new family find their rhythm, you’ll find me hanging out with my family and friends, soaking up a good TV show or getting outside for some fresh air. I’m passionate about music and love to travel when I can.
