I am a Labour and Postpartum Doula, a Menopause Doula, and a practicing End of Life Doula.
I have completed a year of Trauma-Informed Care training, including specialized education in supporting trauma survivors through their birthing experiences.
With over 25 years of experience as a lawyer, mediator, and executive board member, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute my expertise to various government, sport, dance, and community organizations. I’ve served on the Alberta Fatality Review Board and the Premier’s Council for the Status of Persons with Disabilities, advocating for meaningful change at the provincial level.
For years, I told my legal colleagues, "I’m going to become a midwife or a doula and leave all this behind!"—a statement often met with confusion and head-shaking. But for those who know me well, this transition feels completely natural. Nothing has been more rewarding than the gifts I’ve received through birthing and parenting my five incredible children. Now, with the freedom to fully dedicate myself to doula work, I consider it a profound privilege to witness and support others in their own parenting journeys.
My family is beautifully diverse and intersectional—my children are biracial, neurodivergent, physically differently-abled, and LGBTQ2S+, each a strong and compassionate individual who leads with both heart and intellect. I’m also a proud and loving Lola to five grandchildren.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the core of my values. I am a fierce advocate for my clients, a nurturing caregiver, and a dedicated educator.
Beyond my work as a doula, I am a trained family mediator and parenting coordinator. A lover of books and music, an enthusiastic cook, and a passionate gardener, I bring warmth and curiosity to everything I do.
I look forward to supporting families through every stage of their journeys.
