A birth blessing is a sacred gathering of the special people in your life, wether that is a few people or many, it is a time that honours & nurtures you, as you prepare for your grand adventure through labour and parenthood, offering encouragement, and meaningful rituals to support your journey. Those who attend may be asked to share stories, poems, words of encouragement, wisdom and affirmation about pregnancy, birth, and parenthood.
Guests are usually asked to bring a light snack for our potluck together and we will bring you our very special “groaning cake” to share in the festivities. All components and ceremony items are included in your ceremony.
At the gathering we may conduct a few creative activities of your choosing such as making a beaded necklace to have near you in your birth, create birth flags to hang in your birthing space, Create henna designs on the pregnant belly or bless an item that can be used as a source of comfort and strength during your birthing time. You will be adorned with a ceremonial flower crown and pampered for the day. There are lots of ways we can personalize your gathering and make it a memorable day, which we can discuss in the planning stage.
As the birth blessing begins to come to a close, you can feel the immense amount of love that has filled and expanded in the space and is surrounding you. A web has been woven, often connections are deepened, and stories of recollection during past childbirth and parenting experiences are being shared. You will feel lighter and prepared for your journey into birthing and parenthood, knowing that you are held in a cradle of support.
What’s included in your package: The planning and ritual preparation, three to four hours of hosting and facilitation, a floral crown, groaning cake and supplies for 2-3 activities of your choice. set up and take down provided.
