Since 1998, I have dedicated my life to supporting families through the transformative journey into parenthood, believing that birth is a sacred event where every individual deserves to be respected, nurtured & guided with care.

I received extensive training through Elmont Professional Birth Services, attending DONA Certified Doula Training, Advanced Doula Training, Birthwise Midwifery and Labour Support Skills workshops, as well as Mother Wellness Massage for childbirth. I also served as a volunteer birth companion at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, Alberta.

As the owner of Full Circle Birth Collective and Full Circle Postpartum Doula Care—one of Edmonton’s first postpartum doula agencies—I have had the privilege of training nearly 500 doulas across Canada as a faculty member for the CAPPA Labour Doula and Postpartum Doula programs. I have provided doula training to community health workers through the public health regions of Nunee Health Board in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta and First Nations and Inuit Health Branch in Saskatchewan.

My midwifery studies took me to Maternidad La Luz in El Paso, Texas, where I trained under various midwifery apprenticeships. I also completed the Prior Learning and Experience Assessment (PLEA) and the International Midwifery Pre-Registration program at Ryerson University in Toronto. Through these programs, I successfully passed multiple oral clinical exams and the National Midwifery Registration Exam. Before midwifery was regulated in Regina, Saskatchewan, I served as a primary home birth care provider for over five years, supporting families who sought a family-centered birth experience.

My experience extends beyond birth work into medical education. I worked in the Simulation Learning Centre at SIAST in Regina, where I trained EMT and nursing students in emergency medical skills through simulated scenarios. I was also appointed by the Saskatchewan Health Minister to sit on the transitional council that later became the Saskatchewan College of Midwives. These roles deepened my understanding of medical protocols and procedures, allowing me to bridge the gap between the medical and holistic approaches to birth, ensuring families have access to a full range of options that align with their values.

In addition to my doula work, I am a certified CAPPA Childbirth & New Parent Educator. My prenatal visits offer comprehensive childbirth education, covering birth values, coping techniques, mindset preparation, and postpartum expectations for both parents and baby. These private sessions, available in person or online, create space for questions, discussion, and personalized support tailored to each family’s unique journey—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

With over 26 years of experience, I offer unwavering emotional support, physical comfort, and advocacy during labour. I collaborate with birth teams to ensure parents have the information they need to make empowered choices. My approach includes reassurance, labour progress suggestions, relaxation techniques, massage, and positioning for comfort.

I have developed specialized expertise in supporting surrogacy, adoption, intended families, same-sex/queer and 2SLGBTQIA+ families, VBAC, and high-risk pregnancies. My experience spans home births, hospital settings, and Edmonton’s birthing center. Over the years, I have completed additional training in Spinning Babies, Trauma-Informed Care, 2SLGBTQ+ Inclusive Care, and Diversity Training.

As a mother of two adult daughters and a grandmother to three little ones, I draw from both my professional and personal experience to guide families through the maze of information and choices, ensuring each family can create a birth experience that feels right for them—however they define it.
