Educational Scholarships for Doula Education
The Educational Scholarship is open to qualified individuals from communities where access to such services in that population is difficult to obtain. The applicant must show a passion for advocacy and an enthusiasm for Doula work. They must also demonstrate the ability to bring this work back to their specific communites.. This could include such populations as:
• individuals who immigrated to Canada
• people of colour; indigenous and LGBTQ individuals
• individuals who work with or are a part of the incarcerated-women’s community;
• individuals who work with or are a part of the homeless person’s population
There will be one designated scholarship spot in the Labor Doula and Postpartum Doula training.
Participants are evaluated based on the population they are planning to work with and the level of need in the community population. If not immediately awarded, scholarship applications will be held for one year based on the date of receipt. The student will have to re-apply after one year to continue to be considered for the scholarship.
WE BELIEVE HAVING GREATER DIVERSITY IN BIRTH WORKERS IS ONE WAY WE CAN HELP IMPROVE OUTCOMES.
Full Circle strives to provide opportunities to individuals who wish to be agents of change in their community.
Serving others through this amazing life-altering event and making an impact on families and the community,
We have noticed in our doula community, many people are underrepresented.
We are hoping to help create diversity by having more doulas serving these areas.
We know doulas are world changers and greatly impact our community and improve birth outcomes for all individuals and families.
Intake forms are available: HERE
Once an intake form has been received and training is completed. The possibility of mentorship for the certification program may exist within the collective in order to assist doulas in receiving the birth requirement for certification. We cannot guarantee placement or birth numbers.
