The Birth Partner 101 class is a comprehensive and practical class designed to equip both parents with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate their labour and birthing experience. This three-hour class is perfect for anyone, whether a spouse, family member, or friend, who wants to be an effective and supportive presence throughout the birthing process.
Although this class is focused on the partner involvement, the birthing parent will also benefit from the information provided. Style of class: Lecture based with a hands on components. There will be lots of space for discussion and questions. What you will take away from this class: The labour and birth timeline Signs of birthing time and stages Tips and techniques for partners to provide effective support and encouragement Positions for labour progression Back discomfort and techniques to resolve Pain coping mechanisms, mindset of birth, techniques for comfort Love languages and how to apply them Understanding and utilizing informed consent and actual risks, how to make an informed decision Guidelines for timing departure to birth place to ensure best experience Pushing prep and how to take the weight off the tailbone Feeding and Bonding support Early newborn days and postpartum time together $100.00 per couple, due at the time of registration. If you wish to book a private session in your home an additional fee of $20.00 will be applied.
