What is a Labour Doula?
A birth doula meets with you during your pregnancy to answer your questions, and help prepare you for your upcoming birth. In labour your doula will join you when you feel like you need extra support. She provides comfort measures, massage, suggests position changes, and supports both you and your partner,

A Helping Hand
Our doulas are trained to assist mothers through basic breastfeeding positions and techniques, along with non-medicalized newborn care, (i.e., diaper changing, bathing, etc). We concentrate on "mothering the mother" so she may mother her newborn. Our doulas are able to prepare light meals and tend to some of your day to day household tasks, upon request.

What is a Postpartum Doula?
A Full Circle Birth Collective Postpartum Doula provides professional, specialized and individual care, to assist with a mother's recovery and her newborn's needs. Postpartum support may include breastfeeding education, tending to families blessed with multiples or even overnight care.

Partners and Doulas
Childbirth is one of the most complex and unique moments that parents experience. Our partners are wonderful loving support, but they too are evolving into parenthood and typically do not have the skill set or knowledge base that a doula does. Doulas work with dads, partners and anyone else you've invited into your birth team. Our doulas can help them feel at ease with the sights and sounds a labouring woman may make, allowing them to relax into the experience, while participating at their own comfort level. Having a doula by your side can alleviate the stress of not knowing all the ins and outs of childbirth. Your doula will also assist you in comforting your labouring partner with each and every contraction.
