Labour Doula in training / Placenta Artist

I wanted to become a doula even before I became a mom. Then the experience of giving birth at home, all the preparation that it took, having my doula by my side through it all, just confirmed that was one of my purposes in life.

I completed my doula training and have been active in attending births. I love being of service to families and helping them to have an empowering experience.

I am originally from Brazil and having home births in this country's context is very uncommon, and even frowned upon, especially by the medical community. I consider myself highly privileged to have had this experience twice, and it has shaped me to be the woman I am today.
Immediately after my oldest son was born, in 2014, I looked in the mirror and was just so proud of myself. It made me realize that I need to help other people be able to have positive birthing experiences, and that's what I've been working on ever since.

In 2018, I started working with placenta encapsulation services and fell in love with the process. It is very profound and magical work, that affects the whole family unit, and can bring many benefits. Just being in the presence of a placenta is a very strong energy field, and I am honored to be able to work with something so intimate and precious to each life that comes into this world.

Having a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts (2014), it made sense for me to focus on Placenta Art, bringing these two passions together and serving my life purpose.

For more information on Placenta Art and  Doula services in Edmonton, contact Julia by e-mail or WhatsApp!

Each Placenta Art is unique and represents elements related to your personal birth story.
Created with your own placenta's print on paper, later adding watercolor painting.

I am currently working from abroad and offering digital Placenta Art services. Here's how it works:

1. You make a print/stamp with your own placenta. (I will teach you how!)
2. Scan and email me your placenta's print.
3. I will print it out and work on the watercolor art on paper.
4. The final art can be scanned and emailed back so you can print it OR I can send you the original artwork (shipping fees will be added).
