Hi there,
I’m Renee, and I’m a passionate Doula and Registered Social Worker (RSW) with over five years of experience supporting children, families, and individuals through the profound transitions of parenthood. My approach to birth work is deeply rooted in personalized holistic care that addresses the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of the journey to parenthood. Connection is at the core of my practice as I focus on building trust, being emotionally present, and genuinely caring for the families I support. The first question I get asked is why did I become a doula, and my answer is simple. I believe that all births are magical in their own way and the birthing person should be supported and encouraged in a way that aligns with their beliefs. I believe that the birthing environment should be held sacred, and a doula should work as a team member for you and those attending your birth. I felt this in my own two physiological births, and I hope that my clients are able to have their own magical birthing experiences. As a Doula, I believe in nurturing and empowering every individual I work with. I see birth as one of life’s most transformative moments, and my goal is to make sure you feel informed, supported, and heard throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. I know that the postpartum period can be filled with both joy and challenges, and my role is to ensure that you feel confident and empowered as you adjust to life with your baby. I am deeply committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space for you to share your experiences, ask questions, and receive support. Whether you need practical help or emotional reassurance, I am here to provide the gentle, continuous care that honors you and your family’s unique journey into parenthood. I believe in natural parenting, where your intuition is your guiding force. You know yourself and your family better than anyone else- use this strength in confidence. In my role as a social worker, I draw on my experience working with clients facing challenges related to trauma, anxiety, or complex family dynamics. My practice is grounded in empathy, active listening, and a commitment to ensuring that everyone I work with feels respected and heard. I have experience in trauma-informed practices, strengths-based approaches, client-centred care, anti-oppressive practices, and systems theory approaches. Advocating for reproductive rights and equity in maternal health is also a central part of my work. I am passionate about addressing the systemic barriers that limit access to quality care for marginalized communities. Through education, community outreach, and client advocacy, I work to ensure that every family I serve has the opportunity to experience a birth that is meaningful, supported, and aligned with their views. When I am not working with families, I am spending time with my husband and our two babes usually out exploring our community’s nature trails! I love a good cup of hot chocolate by a fire, a mid-morning workout at the gym, and exploring local cafes with friends and family! I am so honoured to be a part of this exciting journey for you and your family, whether that be trying to conceive, bringing your baby into this world or recovering postpartum. I am here to give you the personalized care that best serves you and your family. Thank you, Renee Brochu |
