I’m a Labor and Postpartum doula, as well as a Childbirth Educator.
For as long as I can remember I have always had the desire to help others and have had a special connection to babies since I was a little girl. As I grew into my adolescent years my passion to help others grew but I also found myself now wanting to be apart of some of the biggest events in life but wasn’t sure how I was going to accomplish this. After having my son in the Covid pandemic and leaving my own birth feeling unsupported and uninformed I knew that I never wanted any other new mom to feel the way I felt, so I began my journey as a doula to help birthing families feel informed and supported. After attending my first birth I knew being a doula was my calling. “If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” - Marc Anthony. I absolutely love being a doula and when I’m with a birthing family it does not feel like work as it’s such an honour and privilege to be with any family in the birth and postpartum period. When I’m not attending a birth or working with a new family you will find me hanging out with my son and our dog. We enjoy travelling, quadding and camping. Emma has taken additional training in Indigenous awareness and sensitivity, Indigenous people of Alberta and Safe healthy and inclusive workspaces
She is also trained in Standard First Aid and CPR & is Executive member for the Doula Association of Edmonton. |
